Millions will see this

Viral Marketing is proclaimed to be a cost effective way to reach our customers, but many argue that is only possible whenever the message is truly creative - a meaningless claim, as it would apply to any message regardless of the channel used.
Samsung presented us with a great example of the power of viral marketing (and creativity). The video below was seen by nearly 7 (!) Million people - in less than a month and on You Tube only! Does cost-effectiveness ring a bell? Sure it does: clever viral marketing comes "sheeper".

  1. While I agree that the phrase "truly creative" is ambiguous, I would say that it goes too far to say that it is entirely meaningless.

We respond to things that are unexpected, that we don't get to see or at least haven't seen already. I mean, how often do you get to see sheep herded around with LED grids on their backs while they simulate video games or fireworks?

  2. Thanks for commenting, Dedrick.

You're right, creativity isn't meaningless at all; my point is that creativity is as important in viral marketing as it should be in any other communications' tool.

And these 'enlightened' sheeps are really something worth watching!
